Los Angeles: Jennifer Lopez has reportedly filed for divorce from Ben Affleck, marking the end of their relationship just two years after the Hollywood stars rekindled their romance and tied the knot. The news, first reported by US outlets Variety and TMZ on Tuesday, has shocked fans who followed the couple’s storied relationship over the years.
Lopez and Affleck, affectionately dubbed “Bennifer” by the media when they first became an item in the early 2000s, had captured the public’s attention once again when they reunited nearly two decades later. Their renewed love story culminated in marriage, with the pair exchanging vows in Las Vegas in July 2022. They later held a more lavish ceremony at Affleck’s sprawling estate in Georgia, which was attended by Hollywood friends, including Matt Damon and Kevin Smith.

According to TMZ, the divorce papers listed April 26, 2024, as the official date of their separation, and the two are reportedly no longer on speaking terms. Sources have hinted that differing views on handling fame may have contributed to the split, with Lopez being more open with her fans and Affleck preferring a more private life.
Lopez was previously married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd, and Marc Anthony, with whom she shares twins Max and Emme. Affleck was married to actress Jennifer Garner, and they share three children: Violet, Seraphina, and Samuel.
